Our work and non-profit status

Deutsche Hochschulstiftung is a non-profit organisation. It promotes the academic education of young people and, through this, the common good.

Deutsche Hochschulstiftung is recognised as a non-profit organisation. It is intended to facilitate and promote academic education. A decisive factor here is access to higher education. Academic teaching itself requires that Abitur graduates obtain places at universities. This is no longer possible - even in under-represented courses - with just the ‘allgemeine Hochschulereife’ (Abitur, university qualification certificate), especially without considerable waiting times. The Foundation aims to oppose this poor state of affairs by supporting German and foreign Abitur graduates and applications for places at higher education institutes, and aiding young people in commencing studies in their desired subject. In the winter semester 2009/2010, the board of Deutsche Hochschulstiftung decided to provide information on claiming places in human medicine, dentistry, veterinary medicine, pharmacy and psychology in particular, because the bottleneck is very large here and the waiting times for Abitur graduates wanting to study are particularly long. Information on chances and opportunities is provided with the assistance of the lawyer of Deutsche Hochschulstiftung.

Deutsche Hochschulstiftung finances its work with the yields of its assets.
